Cost of Living

  • The Milwaukee metro – which is comprised of four counties in southeastern Wisconsin – has a cost of living 2% below the national average according to the ACCRA Cost of Living Index. This average cost of living is also more than 10% below other Midwestern metro areas, including Chicago and Minneapolis/St. Paul.

The Cost of Living Index measures prices of goods and services among participating urban and suburban areas. The index is designed to provide the best possible measure of relative differences among urban areas in the cost of consumer goods and services appropriate for professional and managerial households. All data collected from urban metros must meet certain population requirements. Source: www.coli.org
